The laser is my new best friend

Or not quite yet, but I hope it will be soon.

For quite a while ago I realized that my particular drawing style would work perfectly for designing laser cut jewellery. I made my first test design over a year ago, and I loved how it turned out. So now I’m working on an entire collection, drawing new designs and pondering over what other materials except acrylic that can be cut. I still have lots to learn, but I believe I can produce some really fun things. And jewellery is not the end of it, imagine mobiles and lampshades and and and…

Meet mr Rabbit, my first lazer cut design.


This might become the central piece of a children’s mobile, surrounded by unicorns and mermaids and hot air balloons! Or something else.

    Hi Johanna, I love Mr Rabbit, I’m sure Markus will have prepped you/be keeping you right about materials so I’m sure this comment is largely superfluous but here is a really good list of all the different sort of materials you can cut on a laser http://www.cutlasercut.com/laser-cutting-materials-laser-engraving-materials the difference is in the speed and strength of laser required, or (from my limited understanding) if it is etching on metal, the fact that you need a Fibre laser as opposed to a CO2 one.
